Meet Dr. Emerson Gonyea
I really admired my orthodontist growing up because of the way he interacted with his patients. He showed them respect and genuinely cared about what they said all while being playful and enthusiastic. This ensured every visit was a positive experience and made me really want to have that kind of impact on my patients someday. I also admired the way he gave back to his community which further cemented my desire to be an orthodontist and do the same throughout my career. I am very eager to build relationships with my patients and the community just as my orthodontist did when I was younger.
I love being able to connect with a younger patient population while still making an impact on adults who desire meaningful changes as well. With all patients, I strive to change their perception of getting orthodontic treatment and make it an overwhelmingly positive experience no matter the difficulty of treatment.
In orthodontics, you really get a chance to get to know the patient and their families, which makes everything we do that much more rewarding. I learn a lot from my patients, and I hope they appreciate how important they are to my passion for orthodontics.
I’m an avid sports fan with a lifelong passion for basketball—both playing and watching the game. I’m a dedicated fan of the Wisconsin Badgers and Michigan State Spartans, and LeBron James remains my all-time favorite player. My love of staying active pairs well with my interest in cooking and exploring the vibrant culinary scene in the Twin Cities. I enjoy traveling with my wife, Jenna. We’ve been married for two years and share a love for discovering new destinations—though Hawaii continues to be our favorite getaway.
